They might not shout “fore” when hitting the ball and you’re definitely not going to see golf carts scooting up and down the streets in downtown Burlington, but fun is bound to be had as the Alamance County Arts Council presents its annual Urban Golf Tournament on May 15.
A shotgun start is planned for 2:30 p.m. at the Wachovia “clubhouse” in downtown Burlington. Professional, amateur and family divisions are being offered to players.
Cost is $100 per foursome for the professional division and $80 per foursome for the amateur division for 18 holes and $50 per family division (maximum of two adults per team) for nine holes.
Each player will receive equipment (tennis balls and golf clubs) and a free water bottle and bag. Contests for the longest drive, closest to the pin and the ARMC Hole-In-One contest will be held.
Register at the Alamance County Arts Council by calling (336) 226-4495 or e-mail arts@triad.rr.com.
